Balanced Daily Lifestyle Breakfast
Balanced Daily Lifestyle Breakfast

In the last 36 hours I have spent a wonderful day of quiet time with my wife Allie getting ready for Christmas. I cooked some delicious meals and walked just 2.2 miles ascending 88 feet collecting no litter but capturing 2 wonderful smiles. As you know I continue to follow my balanced daily lifestyle religiously in order to try to prevent my brain tumour from returning as predicted by my treatment team. Allie supports me in this wholeheartedly by eating the same and exercising too. Variety being the spice of life I decided to treat us this last Sunday with a different breakfast. I made Jamie Oliver’s Smoked salmon on toast drizzled with a little olive oil topped with Avocado, cream cheese, lemon juice and lemon zest. Needless to say it was delicious and so terribly good for one. For supper I cooked Green tea Salmon which is another one of Jamie Oliver’s most excellent recipes. Served with brown Basmati rice cooked in coconut milk, and with a hot vegetable salad of Sugar snap peas, tenderstem broccoli and Asparagus dressed with a home made dressing of fresh red chilli, fresh ginger, miso paste, fresh coriander, lemon juice, soy sauce and runny honey all whizzed up together in a blender. DELICIOUS and packed full of good stuff.

This morning I went for my 20 minute lymph system pumping brisk walk covering 2.2 miles in a little over 21 minutes in which I captured two wonderful smiles. Back home I did my upper body strength training circuit, stretched and by the time I showered and changed I was craving my routine balanced daily lifestyle breakfast once again as it is so very tasty and with:

Banana – A Whole System Powerhouse with Vitamin B6, Manganese, Vitamin C, Potassium, Fibre, Copper and Biotin.

Allie’s brilliant home made muesli containing:

Oats – helps protect against heart disease and diabetes by lowering cholesterol levels and contains: Manganese, Molybdenum, Phosphorus, Copper, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Magnesium, Fibre, Chromium, Zinc, Protein.

Raisins – helps improve the health of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, immune system, inflammatory system, blood sugar regulating system, and nervous system and has special benefit in cancer prevention, with risk of breast, prostate, and colon cancer emerging as the most likely areas of raisin’s anti-cancer benefits. The other surprising and wonderful reason for including raisins in your breakfast cereal is that they include Lycopene – the compound that gives tomatoes and other fruits their bright colour and has been found to interrupt blood flow to cancer cells, starving them to death. Raisins contain: vitamin K, Copper, Vitamin B2 as well as a whole host of phytonutrients that are increasingly found to be of particular benefit to maintaining and improving health.
Dried Cranberries – an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, with anti-cancer properties and contains: Manganese, Vitamin C, Fibre, Vitamin E, Copper, Vitamin K, Pantothenic acid.
Almonds – helps reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol and contains: Biotin, Vitamin E, Manganese, Copper, Vitamin B2, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Molybdenum, Fibre.
Walnuts – benefits the heart and circulatory system and contains: Omega-3 fats, Copper, Manganese, Molybdenum, Biotin,
Pumpkin Seeds – a whole system health food with strong antioxidant properties and contains: Manganese, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Copper, Zinc, Protein, Iron.
Sunflower Seeds – An anti-cancer seed triggering Apoptosis through the provision of selenium while also being an anti-inflammatory with benefits to the cardiovascular system.

I top this off with a little granola for some crunch and then add:

Ground Flaxseed x 1 Tablespoon in the cereal – unique as a food in that it helps to fight cancer by causing Apoptosis in cancer cells through the provision of selenium and helps to improve cardiovascular and brain health while also providing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which make them a logical candidate for cancer prevention. That’s because chronic inflammation (even low level inflammation) and chronic oxidative stress are risk factors for cancer development. In the case of flaxseeds, evidence of risk reduction is strongest for breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer. Breast cancer and prostate cancer are included in the list of cancers known as “hormone-related” cancers which flaxseed can help reduce the risk of developing. Nutritionally, flaxseed is also very strong as it contains: Omega-3 fats, Vitamin B1, Copper, Manganese, Fibre, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Selenium.

Blueberries x 40g – A cancer fighting fruit through the triggering of Apoptosis that also provides antioxidant and blood sugar support while strengthening cardiovascular, brain and eye health.

Raspberries x 40g – Another cancer fighting fruit through the triggering of Apoptosis that also provides antioxidant and-inflammatory benefits to extraordinary levels while also helping with weight loss and in the prevention of Diabetes.

To help it all go down I then add:

Milk – Organic milk provides Apoptosis causing Selenium so is a cancer fighter while providing a great source of immune system essential protein and calcium as well as a host of other vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients essential for whole system health including: Vitamin B12, Iodine, Vitamin B2, Vitamin D, Phosphorus, Calcium, Pantothenic acid, Selenium, Protein, Biotin, Vitamin A.

All chased down with an Apple. After all an apple a day is proven to significantly reduce the risk of lung cancer as well as colon and breast cancers while being an excellent antioxidant, and improving cardiovascular health, blood sugar regulation and respiratory health, in particular and most surprisingly actively suppressing and reducing any tendency towards Asthma. An apple also contains a whole host of Polyphenols as well as Fibre and Vitamin C.

I then finish with my daily turmeric supplement – A Cancer fighting spice that packs a real punch through triggering Apoptosis in cancer cells but also has many excellent health benefits including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, while supporting cardiovascular health, improving digestive health, protecting joint health and protecting against the onset of Rheumatoid Arthritis, improving cognitive function.

So my balanced daily lifestyle breakfast is not only wonderfully tasty but also so terribly good for one.

Please help me to spread a little light into the lives of those that struggle by sending me a photo of your smile that I can publish, with the other 155 smiles so far captured, on the smileometer on my website, and via the Challenge social media channels of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Emailing it to me would be best on archie@beatthebeastchallenge.co.uk or message it to me on Messenger or Instagram.

Furthermore I continue to look for sponsorship. There are 64 million active current accounts in the UK. If I can attract just 1% of these account holders to sponsor me with just £1 per month I can raise £640,000 per month to help save and rebuild lives of the world’s poorest through the Disasters Emergency Committee. At the moment, with just 53 sponsors, I have only managed to reach 0.008% of my target. So if you do not yet sponsor me, please give me 10 minutes of your time to fill out a standing order to challenge me to keep fighting. Every penny raised goes to the Disasters Emergency Committee to bring light to those whose entire lives have been destroyed by the double whammy of COVID-19 and disaster.

Every penny raised encourages me to keep fighting to prevent my brain tumour from returning as predicted, and to retrain and strengthen my brain, using the mediums of Golf, Music, Navigating over the Hills, Drama, Dance, Juggling, Litter Picking and Writing, with becoming neurologically and cognitively strong enough to one day be able to sustain myself in some form of future employment being may main effort.

Thank you, Keep safe, keep being brilliant.

Keep smiling
