Day 13 has been physically a little less taxing but has been a whirlwind of really exciting activity.
I managed to squeeze in an hour of Rhody bashing up in Jubilee Wood this morning and was delighted to bump in to Liz and Pauline and Tom who gave me a cheery hello before I became an impromptu shepherd for 5 mins as I stood on a track junction to ensure the flock kept going in the right direction as they were expertly moved to a new field up the road by Niall Bowser. The flock was enormous and not one sheep was lost. Certainly not one got past me!!
Mid morning was a very exciting meeting about a possible opportunity to join a very special relay event. More on that to follow one day in the future hopefully!! Thank you Len for your time this morning and for being so supportive and positive about the challenge.
This afternoon, on the way back from recording today’s organ tune I was approached with a view to interviewing me for an article for the Kilmadock Parish magazine ‘The Bridge’. Very exciting and I was of course thrilled to accept my first media interview. Thank you for the opportunity Juliet, I very much look forward to it and hope that I do your faith in the challenge as a story justice.
Finally to top off in a brilliant way a brilliant day I have just returned from an adventure on the train to Glasgow to meet with a dear old friend who was up from Sussex for a meeting and somehow found the time in his very busy diary to have dinner with me. Even better he paid for it too!! Conn thank you for being such a good friend who has proved to be unfailingly dependable and a font of the most extraordinary levels of wisdom on all things. It truly is a blessing to count you as a friend.
