Day 7 was today all about people. I had never intended it to be and in fact was feeling a little sad having waved farewell to my brother Harry after such a good week together. That coupled with feeling fairly shaky this morning meant that it was quite a struggle to get my head together and get to the bus stop in time for the Number 59 to Callander. I made it and thank goodness that I did because as I set out from the Meadows to head for the Falls of Leny I bumped in to Brian and Moira from Morecombe Bay, Lancashire who were a delightful couple out for a walk. We started in light conversation, walked and talked and before I knew it had done 2.5 miles of a route I had no intention of heading down!!

However the fog of chemo had passed and I had a great first hour or so that morning. We parted company at Kilmahog with a wave and a smile before I headed back down the remaining 1.5 miles back in to Callander. It was a delight to meet you both, to hear of your lovely family and for you to have listened to my story. I very much hope you do decide to join me on the journey and help me spread the word about the challenge.

That was now 4 miles completed and I still had the original 5 miles to the Falls of Leny and back to do. I couldn’t leave it. I now felt good and had to complete this mornings mission!! Very quickly I bumped in to Malcolm from Callander. It was a delight to meet you today.

Thank you for listening to my story and I know you have already started to spread the word so thank you.

I managed to remain on track and met more people. It was a good walk completed and topped off with a mocha and a flapjack at the delightful cafe Ecosse in Callander!! 9 miles walked today and 3 more people met and hands shaken. A good day.
